Our expert Anne travelled to Romania per request of Dairy Training Centre (DTC). DTC is the training center for dairy farming and milk processing, headquartered in Leeuwarden. DTC conducts both national as international training programs, alongside the implementation of training projects all over the world. Bles Dairies’ consultancy division (The Friesian) is shareholder of DTC and we cooperate closely with this practical training centre.
Anne trained the staff of a large scale dairy farm in the west of Romania during 4 days. It concerned a vast complex with around 1500 milking cows and 1500 heads of youngstock. The units have undergone several developments the last couple of years, for which reason training of the involved workers was requested. Anne provided trainings on various dairy topics. “We focused a.o. on hoof care, pregnancy scanning, inseminations, young stock rearing and contact with cows.” Also attention was paid to livestock improvement. He concludes: “I have had a very good week in Romania. The dairy farmer was enthusiastic, the trainees were motivated and learned a lot”.
