At the end of June the two-yearly Nationale Rundvee Manifestatie (NRM) took place in Zwolle. The NRM is the showcase of dairy farming in the Netherlands and the largest cattle event in our country. It attracts about 10,000 Dutch and international visitors. During the event dairy farmers and sector organisations presented their results in the field of healthy and sustainable business practices. In addition to cattle shows, the event also featured an international expo where different companies showcased their farming expertise. A great opportunity for Bles Dairies and our subsidiary Semex Holland to present our businesses and specialisations!
Therefore, Bles Dairies was present with a booth at the expo, representing all business divisions: the export of Livestock, the sale of high quality Genetics and the provision of Consultancy.
The fair is a.o. aiming at showcasing cattle breeders’ achievements, wherefore Semex presented a daughter group. By presenting a group of the Swissbec Brekem, Semex showed that it has more to offer than just high exterior bulls. Brekem is a great all-rounder that meets the needs of all dairy farmers. His daughters are ideal robot cows and because of great production figures, Immunity+ and high protein they always create satisfied farmers. Despite the small selection space, the Brekem group made a good impression! The second day of the fair, Dutch dairy farmers presented the qualities of cattle by bringing impressive individual cows into the ring. At the black & white category it was one big Semex party, with five of the six champions descending from Semex sires. The best advertisement we could wish!
Moreover, this edition of the NRM was a festive one for us. Subsidiary Semex celebrated its 20th anniversary in the Netherlands! Dairy farmers could obtain one of the 5 uniquely designed Semex t-shirts by sending in their favorite Semex descendant of the last 20 years or placing an order. Lots of farmers came to our booth to join this promo action.
We can only say that this NRM was a great event! Fantastic cows, an incredible audience and a good atmosphere. We have spoken with many people; both with established relationships, associates, acquaintances as with new faces from all over the world. This was very valuable for us. See you in two years!
