Opening Bles Dairies Genetics, Uganda
After an extensive preparatory trajectory, Bles Dairies proudly marked a significant milestone with the grand opening of Bles Dairies Genetics Uganda on November 25th in Mbarara, Uganda. This new company is a joint venture with RDI, a family-owned farming enterprise renowned for its high-breed cows.

RDI holds a special place in the region as a Practical Dairy Training Farm that was established wit the of support SNV (The Netherlands Development Organization). Over the years, thousands of farmers have benefited from training programs at RDI, making it a renowned hub for agricultural education.
Open day at RDI
The grand opening coincided with an open day at RDI, in which all alumni trainees from past years where invited. Uganda’s Minister of Agriculture, Frank Tumwebaze, graced the occasion as the guest of honor, officially inaugurating the enterprise by cutting the ribbon. The presence of such a distinguished guest attracted substantial media attention, resulting in widespread coverage of the Bles Dairies Genetics Uganda launch.
Artificial Insemination in Uganda
In Uganda, the adoption of Artificial Insemination remains relatively low, even when compared to neighboring countries such as Kenya, where our genetic sales are also active. However, we are convinced that Uganda presents a promising growth market for genetics, offering Bles Dairies a valuable opportunity as one of the pioneers in this emerging sector.
Training & sensitization initiatives for farmers,
Commencing our operations with a modest import of 2100 doses of semen, the local sales team is gearing up to make sales in the coming months. Concurrently, we are committed to continuous training and sensitization initiatives for farmers, which will further solidify our position in the market.
