Bles Dairies supports education

Feb 7, 2017

Dairy specialist and technical director of The Friesian Martin is appointed a member of the Advisory Committee for the new Master of Innovative Dairy Chain Management at the Hogeschool Van Hall Larenstein in Leeuwarden.

This master focuses on farms delivering milk of sufficient quantity and excellent quality in a profitable manner while adhering to quality and safety requirements of the chain. The master is for international mid-career students working in the dairy farming sector or in the dairy industry. At Van Hall Larenstein they hope to attract students from India, China, Africa but also from The Netherlands and other West European countries.

Who better than a field specialist has experience and insight in the international developments in this study area? As member of the Advisory Committee Martin monitors the match with labour market needs. He also advices on strategic and study-overarching topics. This way the students will be educated to professionals that are needed in the labour market. The Advisory Committee recognizes opportunities, bottlenecks, makes proposals for the improvement of the curriculum and contributes in this way to the quality of the study.

Possibly experts of the The Friesian will also be involved in the practical part, by providing guest lectures to the students. We think it is important to be involved in education, since education forms an essential aspect for our company and the sector we operate in!
